Amirah was born on January 13, 2010. She was a 27 weeker and was only 1lb 4oz at birth. She was trached at about 3 1/2 months old. And had the nissen and g-tube surgery about 6 weeks later. She is currently vent dependent.
We are in the process of getting ready to bring her home (hopefully mid September).

Sophie was born on October 20, 2008 at 32 wks gestation via emergency c-section. She was prediagnosed in utero with Down Syndrome and a heart defect. Sophie spent the first 3 months of her life in the NICU at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Abby was born healthy on March 15, 2008. She had a slight heart murmur, but it has gone away. When she was 7.5 months old, she came down with Meningitis. All of her medical conditions stem from the Meningitis.

Jasmine is the youngest of my four "legal" (vs Foster) kids. She was a 24 week gestation preemie with multiple congenital and acquired medical problems and disabilities. Somehow we, her family, did not see anything except a new baby -though others most certainly did - and let us know it! She was 16 when she died very quickly from a virus. She will always be sorely missed.

Maisy was born with a host of congenital anomolies that have required many surgeries. She is walking and using lots of signs to tell us what she wants. She is amazingly resilient and thriving despite her setbacks in life. She is a happy and fun little girl who loves to pull on her vent to get immediate attention! She is now off her vent when she is awake.
