Jasmine

Jasmine is the youngest of my four "legal" (vs Foster) kids. She was a 24 week gestation preemie with multiple congenital and acquired medical problems and disabilities. Somehow we, her family, did not see anything except a new baby -though others most certainly did - and let us know it! She was 16 when she died very quickly from a virus. She will always be sorely missed.

Maisy was born with a host of congenital anomolies that have required many surgeries. She is walking and using lots of signs to tell us what she wants. She is amazingly resilient and thriving despite her setbacks in life. She is a happy and fun little girl who loves to pull on her vent to get immediate attention! She is now off her vent when she is awake.

Roberto Anaya, II was born on March 2nd, 2008 after a complicated pregnancy. I had many ultrasounds and other tests done and no abnormalities were detected. He was blue and not breathing. The doctor detected a heart murmur. He was rushed to the NICU to be stablized on a biPAP-he was weaned off oxygen and TPN over 13 days.

Dylan was born with lots of medical conditions and a preemie. He was born at home and transported to Brenner's Children Hospital where he live for 2 years. His major medical problem was renal failure so he was started on dialysis. First it was peritoneal dialysis, then manual dialysis, last was hemo-dialysis. He coded over 17 times, finally he had to get a tracheostomy tube.
