Maisy was born with a host of congenital anomolies that have required many surgeries. She is walking and using lots of signs to tell us what she wants. She is amazingly resilient and thriving despite her setbacks in life. She is a happy and fun little girl who loves to pull on her vent to get immediate attention! She is now off her vent when she is awake.

Alexandrea was born at 26 weeks on August 6, 2006. We are foster
parents, and we were called to take "Ali" on October 12, 2006. We were
able to go and see her for the first time on October 13, 2006. She had
just come out of recovery for getting her trach placed. We spent the
next week at her bedside everyday.

Karyn-marie was born November 28, 2008. She was diagnosed with Down Syndrome and pulmonary hypertension while in the NICU. She was born three weeks early and was discharged when she was one week old. My 20 month old son had RSV, and ineviteably she was sick five days later.

Abbrielle Calleen A. Real

Abbrielle Calleen A Real is the first and only child of her parents. She was born on April 5, 2008 as a bouncing baby weighing 6.1lbs. She was born with multiple congenital anomalies such as laryngomalacia, cleft palate, and ventricular septal defect. She was checked for Pierre Robin and DiGeorge syndromes but found negative.

Emily was born at 36 weeks after placental abruption. It wasn't a bundle of laughs: we were both in intensive care - me after they had saved my life after i bled out, em fighting for hers. No one expected her to survive - she showed no signs of life at birth (her APGARS were 0 and 1) but was revived. She suffered from hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy and then seizures.

My child Courtney Faith Horne was born at 36 weeks on April 23 2002, she weighed 9lbs 4oz was born with hydrocephalus, had a VP shunt placed at 3 days old, open heart surgery at 1 1/2 wks for an ASD/VSD repair and kidney surgery at 2 1/2 wks she was born with right kidney only. She had nissen and g-tube placed in July 2002. Because of all the surgeries her trachea was weakened and she ended up having severe tracheamalacia which is how she got her trach placed in September 2002, she had a cleft palate repaired in June 2004.

Hannah Rose Pavalock

Hannah Rose spent the first 4 months of her life in All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. She was transferred there from our local hospital at 4 days old. She was transferred due to her heart defect (VSD). They did not have any pediatric cardiologist here at the local hospital.

On 9/30/02, God blessed my husband Jeff and I with twins, Michael and Madelyn. Madelyn was very healthy and came home with us right away, Michael did not. Michael weighed 3lbs. 14oz. when he was born and was diagnosed with a rare chromosome deletion no one else in the world has. Michael is missing a piece of his 3rd chromosome, specifically 3q21-25.

Nicholas Anthony LaBella was born on October 4, 2001. We should have known that very day that Nicky wasn't going to follow any of the "normal" rules! Upon arriving at the hospital in labor, we were told by the attending that I still had at least three hours of labor to go. Needless to say, the minute the doctor and nurse left the room, Nicholas made his arrival. No doctor, no nurse, no drugs. That is Nicky!
