Brianna was born at 23 weeks gestation. She had retinopathy of prematurity surgery, PDA ligation. She received her trach tube at 3 months old. We met her in January 2010 when we adopted her into our family. She has weaned off the ventilator and off of oxygen while at home. Her trach is scheduled to be removed on February 11th.

Samantha was a 26 week premie. After spending three weeks in the high risk maternity ward after my water broke, she was born by c-section and not given very good chances. She was in the NICU from August 26 to December 13. Most of her problems were respiratory. She thankfully had no hemorrhages, optical, or cardiac complications.

Ally has faced over 15 surgeries already in her short five years. Her twin sister Katie is doing well and has been a big support and love in her life. Someday we hope and pray that she will join the decannulated group. Ally had her trach placed when she was 5 months old for Laryngomalacia. Ally was in the NICU for five months before she finally came home to us.

Sarah was born a healthy, full-term baby. At 4 weeks of age she contracted RSV. Her case was so severe that she was required to be intubated for approximately 1 month. The trauma from the intubation tube was such that it caused her to have subglottic stenosis. After nearly four months at Connecticut Childrens Medical Center, we were finally able to go home.
