Brianna was born at 23 weeks gestation. She had retinopathy of prematurity surgery, PDA ligation. She received her trach tube at 3 months old. We met her in January 2010 when we adopted her into our family. She has weaned off the ventilator and off of oxygen while at home. Her trach is scheduled to be removed on February 11th.

Nicola was born on the 16. October 2009, after what I thought was a really healthy pregnancy, at 42 weeks gesturation. Labour was straight forward and went well. Immediatly after birth Nicola struggled badly to breath. Everything from there and for the next 3 days is more or less a blur to me. She has been rushed away to be intubated straight away.

Amirah was born on January 13, 2010. She was a 27 weeker and was only 1lb 4oz at birth. She was trached at about 3 1/2 months old. And had the nissen and g-tube surgery about 6 weeks later. She is currently vent dependent.
We are in the process of getting ready to bring her home (hopefully mid September).

Sophie was born on October 20, 2008 at 32 wks gestation via emergency c-section. She was prediagnosed in utero with Down Syndrome and a heart defect. Sophie spent the first 3 months of her life in the NICU at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Bayden was born at 26 weeks and 3 days due to me having an incompetent cervix. He weighed 2 lbs and 2 oz and was 15 1/4 inches long. A week later they ordered a cranial CT and diagnosed him with a grade 3-4 bleed in his brain. He was still doing so well that they didn't think there was gonna be much damage. Then when he was 2 months old he went into surgery for a Nissen Fundoplication and G-Tube.

Luca was born on january the 14th 2009 at 25weeks weighing 2pound 3ounces, this was over his estimate weight of a pound or less. As you can probably guess the whole family where worrying at this time as he was born so prem. He spent his first 8 months of his life in a neo-natal unit.

Ms. B-Destiney was born at 23 wks, 1lb & 4 oz. She spend a year and 10 days in the NICU. Ms B-Destiney has been home since April 27, 2009. She is an intelligent and active baby with a 20 year old sibbling.
