Ali is a 9 months with complex cardiac disease and he was born with transposition of the great arteries which was originally repaired in the United Arab Emirates shortly(04.09.09) after birth. He had continuing airway issues with concern for airway compression due to extrinsic effects of pulmonary arteries.
He went to United States with a tracheostomy and on full time ventilator support for evaluation of cardiothoracic options for airway with surgery if needed. He underwent a pulmonary arterioplasty on 16.01.09 and a subsequent pulmonary arteriopexy on 19.01.09 in an attempt to relieve compression on his left mainstem bronchus.
