Tyler was born on September 22nd 2008. When he was born he had trouble breathing on his own so he was sent to Nashvile's Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. He was intubated when they picked him up. When he was 5 days old they wanted to see if he could breath on his own if they could open up his air way in his nose. 4 days later he was able to breath but had to work hard to breath, therefore he could'nt gain wieght so they had to put a G-tube in. On October 22nd 2008 he was able to come home. 5 days later he went into distress. He gave out on breathing because he was working so hard. So he was air lifted back to vanderbilt and inyubated agin. His ENT wanted to do a Broncocopy to see why he was working so hard to breath. So when he went in to do the procedure he found out that Tyler's air way was very narrow and also had scar tissue from being intubated so many times. So he offerd to put in a Tracheostomy and I agreed to the procedure. After he came out he looked so bad... but when he woke up he looked at me and smiled for the first time and that is when i knew i did something right. A week and a half later he went home. He has only went back if he got sick.
