Tiffany Nicole Youngblood was born July 15, 1984 at Tyndall Air Force base in Panama City, Florida. My name is Barbara Youngblood and Tiffany is my oldest daughter and my first child. Tiffany was born with a rare chromosome abnormality called an interstitial deletion of the short arm of chromosome #2. At the time of her birth she was the only child known with this particular genetic defect. The last time I checked there was a total of five children with this defect and Tiffany was the oldest. I am not sure how many there are now. Tiffany got her nissan wrap and g-tube when she was 10 months old and her trach when she was two years old after her first pneumonia. Although Tiffany is total care and does not talk, walk, or do any of the things most teenagers do, she is the most popular kid at her school. Tiffany has the sweetest personality and is always smiling and happy. We have come a long way in the past 16 years, which is 14 years more than the doctors gave Tiffany to live, and I thank God everyday for the sweetest little girl that anyone could possibly ask for. We have never let the trach stop us from including Tiffany in anything we do or anywhere we go and I believe that this has made Tiffany the people person that she is today.
