She was born at 32-33 weeks gestation, and was born asystolic requiring a 14 minute resuscitation. She was born at a local hospital, but then had to be transported to a trauma unit due to her condition at birth. She was placed in the neonatatal intensive care unit where she remained for almost 1 month. Within this time, she received a gtube and then returned to the NICU. Came home from hosptial on June 22nd, 2005. Was under the assumption at that time that Natasha was to be a airly normal child. Had to go back to the hospital in August 2005 for the treatment of her seizure disorder. Discharged two weeks following treatment and returned home. In November, returned again to the hosptial, this time for a tracheostomy. Natasha had a rough time breathing due to aspiration causing her to quit breathing on three different occasions while at the hospital. On November 7th, 2005, the trach was performed and also has placement of ear tubes. During her hospitalization, it was also found that she had multiple other disfunctions. She remained in the hospital until the end of December causing her to not be home for her first Christmas. Natasha was admitted in 2006 to the hospital for tracheitis, infection of the trachea. Also during that same hospitalization, an MRI of her brain was performed and found out she had severe brain damage. At the end of 2006, found out that Natasha had hearing loss and cortical blindness. In 2007, Natasha had a more stable year other than the occasional trachitits and ear infection, which usually could be treated at home. Every 6 months to 1 year, Natasha is required to have a bilateral scope to make sure she has no aspiration, perform biopsies of her lung tissue and wash her lungs tissue to rid of buildup and check for infection and to check her trachial stoma. The year 2008 has also been a stable year for her.
