Braden was born at 24 weeks. He was a brother to a twin sister Kaleigh Grace who passed away 13 days after their birth. Braden spent 4 months in the NICU. He was born on Jan 10 08 and came home on May 27 08. I am a stay at home Mom and main care provider for Braden. I do not have a nurse. If I need a break Braden's Dad takes over. Braden was well taken care of in the NICU. He has many nurse friends who help us out on occassion. Braden is a happy child. Very well behaved and smiley. He is complete JOY. He is super when we do our weekly trach changes. Braden is on 24 % oxygen and has severe refux. On Nov 6th he had a nissen fundoplication surgery and G-tube. Braden can take a bottle but his pulmonary team doesn't want him to aspirate so they will not let him take a bottle at this time. Developmentally Braden is doing very well. He is able to sit with assistance. He does really well playing with his smaller toys. He seems to improve everyday on his skills. Tennessee early intervention comes in once a week to work with him. Right now we do not have any OT or PT. But we will probably be getting one or both soon.
