Peter Gerrard is proof that living with a Tracheostomy doesn't mean holding back on life. Born in 1972, he overcame a blockage in his windpipe when only 3 days old and nearly 3 years in a Glasgow Hospital. Decannulation was not an option back then, and an later attempt failed.
After 10 years of working in restaurants in Edinburgh, Peter is now working at Heriot-Watt University on the outskirts of the city. While in the restaurant trade, Peter worked his way up to being Assistant Manager in the City Centre. His current position now allows him to regain his Social life and improve on his bowls.
Peter can be found on Facebook and Bebo, and is available to be contacted.
His website covers all these subjects in words and pictures, from the beginning in Stranraer to his holiday in San Francisco and Las Vegas. Peter enjoys travelling and proving people wrong, sailing is feasible for owners of a trachy (but only with the right supervision and safety equipment).
Peter would like to dedicate this page to Dr. Cowan who recently passed away. Dr. Cowan had looked after Peter since he moved to Edinburgh.
