Hi my name is Scott I was born on the 23rd June 09 ! Shortly after birth I was diagnosed with a cleft palate. When I got home I began to have trouble feeding and breathing difficulties after 20 days I was diagnosed with Pierre Robin Sequence and this resulted in me having a Trachi ! Now I'm doing great Im feeling much better and starting to gain weight x
Great news Scott has to have his soft palate repaird on wednesday we have to take him in on tuesday, im not really sure what to expect or how long it will take to heal does anyone have any experience with this xx
We were at an appointment last week and scotts consultant is really pleased with his progress .. Hes now on the list for surgery to get his palate reapaired and they are very optimistic that he may be decanulated shortly after :) .. Ill keep u posted !
Just another update! Scott has been coming on leaps and bounds.. We have been teaching him baby sing language .. and just today he began to sign for milk !!! Cant belive how he has progressed in the last few months Can roll over, Sit unsupported, and clap his hands.. To think he onced was soo small in hospital struggling to breath.. and now well I just cant thank god enough for his trachi xx
Been such a rollacoasterrrrr. Just before christmas scotty got his scope things are looking good he has a slightly floppy windpipe but nothing to worry about which is great x Just after christmas hes got bronculities AGAINNNN but was also RSV positive he was in hospital for 8 days was having help feeding and breathing almost got put on a ventilator but my little fighter managed to cope on his own x He is home now but has a chest infection now but getting over it than godness. Scottys doin so well and got his first tooth on the 25th xx Theres just no stopping him these days when hes in his walky xx We have an appointment to see when he is getting his palate fixed so ill keep you updated xx
Scotty went for a check up on friday was due to have a scope 3 weeks ago but had a few viral infections and also got bronculities, at his check up it was discovered that he may have developed a floppy wind pipe, he is due to go for a scope next wednesday to see hopefuly everythings well! Has any one else experienced this?

I see you have a dateto repair the palet. I hope it goes well.Alex is now off his vent, his been off for 5 days now. i wa very afraid at first,but you know you have to start at some point. He is now doing well. We have a doctors appintment on the 7 of april so see how alex can learn how to talk with the passy muir valve, and then he has an appt. with pulmonary on the 15 of april and then on 16 for a regular drs visit. so we are going to be pretty busy this month. well i have to get going i hope everything goes well. take care, and good luck.xoxo
