Isaiah J. Garcia a 35 week old preemie 4.5 lbs. Born with congestive heart failure/ congenital heart defect. (ASD, PDA, subaortic stenosis with aortic insufficiency , arterial sling and a vascular ring.
Isaiah survived open heart surgery: The Kono Ross Procedure
(Dr. Bailey who perform a cross species transplantation of a baboon’s heart into the small human chest of Baby Fae in 1984)
Now Isaiah is ventilator dependant, His vascular ring compressed his airway and made it colapse. causing type II tracheomalacia But he is growing stronger every day, he is a very happy little boy, who just celebrated his 1st birthday! hopefully he will out grow the tracheomalacia!!
