Gracie was born on Nov 12,2009 at 38 weeks with Myelomeningocele Spina Bifida, Arnold-Chiari Malformation, and Hydrocephalus. Her Myelomeningocele was closed the day after birth and a VP shunt was placed at four days old to manage her Hydrocephalus. She spent 5 days in the NICU and a few more on the floor, she then came home. Two weeks later it was determined that she had a disconnect on her shunt that required surgery to fix.
