Magnus was a nine year old boy who needed a tracheostomy when he was three months of age, when it was discovered that he was missing the diaphragm muscle. For this reason, he required ventilator care.Magnus lived with his parents and younger brother in Stockholm Sweden. Magnus was one of only two such cases in Sweden. Typically he would not have been able to breathe on his own, but after a lot of training (when he was small) he started to breathe more and more without the ventilator and only needed the vent during his sleeping time.
