This beautiful baby is my daughter Inês, she now has 8 months.
At the age of 2 months she had a bronchiolitis that made her stop breathing and her left lung enter in colapse. She was intubated for 7 days breathing through a ventilator into coma. At this time the doctors told us that they didn't know if she was going to live or not.
7 days later Inês wake up from the coma and she begins to breathing for her self and 15 days later we went home convinced that she was ok.
4 days laer we were in the nhospital emergency again. Inês almost couldn't breath. The doctors made her a fibroscopy and a Subglottic Stenosis was detected. 3 days later a Tracheostomy was made.
Fortunately she adapeted to the tracheostomy very quickly and 1 week later she was breathing with no problem and the happy baby that she always was, was smiling again to us.
At first the doctors told us that Inês case was very severe and probably the operation only could be made in Switzerland, but now after several examination they concluded that she can be operated here in Portugal. We just dont know yet if they are going to do the laser or prosthesis correction. We hope to know it in a few days.
