MaryJane scheduled for Bronch/Decannulation on March 23rd!

Hello Everyone! Just thought I would pass the news that my little girl (now 2) is scheduled for a Bronchoscopy and planned decannulation on March 23rd. I'm excited and scared at the same time, but am looking forward to this! This apparently will be a 2 night hospital stay and wanted to ask any parents out there - what your experiences have been like? Thanks! Wendy

Bronch went well, but no trach removal yet!
Well - it looks like my daughter's going to keep her trach for at least another 4-6 more months! I'm so baffled with all the false hope these doctors are giving me that why didn't they do the bronch awhile back before the 2nd sleep study was done? When the 2nd sleep study was done, they didn't even cap her trach - so there's no good study results to help justify her trach coming out now anyway. I would have thought that being on the Cleft Palate Panel meant something, but apparently no one is communicating correctly to each other. Oh well - looks like we're gonna have to wait a little bit longer!

Well,by reading your blog,it sounds as if we the same problem....my daughter,Lillie,has had her trach since birth and I've was told then(almost three years ago) that she would only have it for about a year...very untrue!! Since birth my little girl has under went well over 100 surgeries and countless bronchs and sleep studies and I ALWAYS get the same news...she'll have to keep her trach a little longer.And a little longer has turned into YEARS later...it has gotten to the point now that when I take her to her ENT I don't get my hopes up to receive GOOD news because I always seem to get let down. These Drs just don't understand how frustrating they can be on a parent sometimes!!! I hope things get better for you and your daughter soon and you both get the news you're hoping for soon!

I am glad to hear that your little girl gets her trach out next week!!! That is wonderful news for her and your family!! Best of luck!! I'm still waiting on that same kind of news and have been or almost three years now! My daughter is havin a bronchoscopy that same day so I'll be praying that I get good news and that everything goes well or your new adventure!!!
