Alaya Update

Hello everyone,
Hi, it's me Alaya. Usually my mom speaks for me, but I wanted to deliver this news myself, through my mommy's hands of course. Yesterday I saw my pulmonologist, and I'm happy to say that I am now completely off the Vent during the day. I only need it at night when I'm asleep. But I plan to get rid of that as well, I just need a little more time. I will be seeing a ENT Dr. very soon to have things evaluated and hopefully go on th the next steps toward Vent free living. I'm also excited because my 1 year birthday is coming up, 9/9...can't wait to see what mommy has for me :o)
I will keep you all informed of my latest accomplishments. God loves me, and he loves you too. Keep fighting the fight.

I wish you the best, you know Alaya my son is 8 months and also is on the vent, he is also trying to come off the vent. so far he only needs it when he is asleep. But otherwise he does great. Today 8/17/09 Im here at the hospital in nashville,tn. I came for a broncoscopy,lynoscopy,endoscopy,and also i had to have some scar tissue removal. right know while my mommy is writting to you im still asleep. I still have some of that anestisa inside my system. Well the drs. said that my malacia is getting better. but my left lung isnt hopefully it will get better, well my mommy has to go and write on my profile. I am happy to hear that weening off the vent is going well. don't worry, your left lung will progress just fine...God is already in control of that. Thanks for the birthday wishes, I'm soooo excited. My teeth are trying to push through and it's getting on my nerves. I'm pooping alot, and my gums are hurting all the time, and my mommy feels so sorry for me, but she comforts me, this is just a part of our life that we babies have to go through. Well, my mommy has to get back to work, so I 'll talk to ya soon...take care,and stay strong.
