Alaya's Update
Hi all...today May 7, 2009 starts the increase in the amount of time that Alaya is being weened off the Vent. We are now going from 4 to 6 consecutive hours. she did great, her sats remained where they should be and she had a surprise for her physical therapist. she showed him that she can sit up on her own and support her neck all by herself. He was sooo proud of her, and of course mommmy is elated. If she continues to do well off the Vent over the next six weeks her Dr. will implement off the vent all day and only on at night while sleeping. Dr is hopefull that Alaya will be completely off the vent by mid summer. I can't begin to express how hopeful I am in that being a reality. God is truly amazing and his blessings are bountiful. god bless the babies:o)

Alaya Update
Hi all...just wanted to send an update on my daughter Alaya. she continues to do well off the Vent. We have started using the Thermovent, so now there is no tubing. Her Pulmonologist suggests 5 min. on Thermovent, but I know how strong my little girl is. We did 5 min, for about 3 days, and then we did 15min, then 1/2 hr., then 1 hr., now we're up to 4 hours with Thermovent only. She does well. I am so ready for the VENT to be history. She is 10 months old now and getting very very active. The tubing just prohibits her from doing all the wild and crazy things that 10 month olds want to do. I have to be patient, and keep praying for my continued blessings. 7.14.2009
