Hi, Brooklyn has taken to untying her Dale brand Pediducks and 240 Trach Ties. She accidentally decannulated herself again this morning. We've been supergluing her trach tie velcro down, but it doesn't always hold. Here are websites for other brands: http://www.posey.com/Posey/NICU-Pediatric/Posey-Foam-Trach-Ties/8197.aspx and http://www.colorfultrachties.com/designs and http://www.vitalitymedical.com/Product/Mallinckrodt-Tracheostomy-Tube-Holder-TTH.html and http://www.marpacinc.com/unifit.htm. Call to see if your home health company is a vendor for any of these and maybe you can give them a try.
Hope all is well out there for you guys...

Nicola is 11 months old and has a 4mm trach with just the ribbon ties. they are stretching quite a bit when she is pulling on her swedish nose but so far she hasn't decannulated herself (touch wood she won't in future). that is something i have never thought about.
what do these metal ties look like? won't they be quite uncomfortable?
Best wishes

Hi, We have recently
Hi,
We have recently started using metal ties on Chase and they work like a charm. I would highly recommend you do this. We used to use the same trach ties as you but the metal ties are so much better. If you have any questions let me know.
Best,
Miranda
